Last Saturday, I had the exciting opportunity to attend the Data Science Festival (DSF) Oktoberfest! I first heard about the event when DSF reached out to me to assist with ticketing for the event. Although our collaboration didn’t materialise this time due to tight timings, I was eager to participate and applied for a ticket through the ballot—and was thrilled to be accepted.

The festival took place at CodeNode, a tech-focussed venue near Liverpool Street. It was a bit odd to be going to a conference on a Saturday, but the venue was busy and there was a great energy. As I’m not really a data scientist I felt a little apprehensive, like I was sneaking into a cult to uncover their dark secrets. Everyone I spoke to however was super friendly, and the talks were engaging and easy enough to follow for an outsider.
